Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State have Berates senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, over an alleged selection empowerment initiative in the council.
Recall that Nwoko empowered some of his constituents, including persons from Oshimili South, a few weeks ago.
At an enlarged PDP meeting held at the Oshimili South Local Government Council Secretariat in Asaba, the Chairman of the PDP in Oshimili South, Chike Ifesioku, expressed dissatisfaction with the senator over the allegedly negligence of party leaders and elders.
Ifesioku said, “What is happening in the Oshimili South Local Government Area is very bad, and we don’t like it.
“You cannot just come to our local government and begin selecting persons for empowerment without involving the leaders and elders of the party.
“What happened here last time should not happen again. Our senator came to our local government and carried out empowerment activities without consulting anyone.
“We saw and heard about it but decided to remain quiet. Now, we are telling him that such actions should not happen again. We have our leader in this state and Delta North Senatorial District, who is Ifeanyi Okowa.
“Okowa has sacrificed and worked for us, so things must go through him as our leader. Someone cannot just come in the name of empowerment and neglect the leaders and elders of the party.
“Let us play politics of relationship. By doing so, we will meet monthly in our respective groups and wards, and quarterly, we will gather at the Arcade for an enlarged meeting.
Ifesioku, tasked its members with reconciling aggrieved members of the party.
Efforts to reach Nwoko for comment failed as at press time.
