The Nigeria Medical Association has called on the Federal Government to recompense the victims of the December 4 bombing in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, which the Army admits was a mistake.
Dr. Uche Ojinmah, National President of the NMA, made the announcement at a press conference in Abuja on Sunday.
It was one of the resolutions agreed upon at the conclusion of the association's National Executive Council conference in Abuja, which took place from December 10 to 17.
He stated that the group communicates with both the Kaduna State Government and the Federal Government, and he praised the military for accepting responsibility and apologizing.
According to Ojinmah, the federal government should fully recompense the victims and cover the medical expenditures of those in hospitals.
This came as he asked the military to improve the precision of their intelligence reports in order to prevent such instances from happening again.
The Nigerian Medical Association president urged the Federal Government to intervene promptly to stop the naira's drop, which he claimed had a negative impact on medication prices and added to Nigerians' suffering.
He stated that the time has come for governments at all levels, to consider leveraging the Universal Health Care to assist destitute Nigerians.
