The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, secured an order from a magistrate, Jeffrey Gilbert, requesting CSU to provide President Bola Tinubu's academic records to Atiku's legal team.
The requested documents include admission records, dates of attendance, degrees, awards, and honours received by Tinubu during his time at the university.

Atiku Abubakar is currently challenging the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in which President Bola Tinubu was declared the winner.
This legal challenge is ongoing, and the academic records are being sought as part of the legal proceedings,
The Punch reports.
As the deadline for providing the documents approached, President Tinubu's lawyers requested a review of the decision made by Magistrate Jeffrey Gilbert.
This request for review and a delay in complying with the order was granted by United States District Judge Nancy Maldonado.
The matter is scheduled for review by Judge Maldonado on Monday, and she expressed awareness of legal deadlines in Nigeria. She indicated that she would rule on the matter promptly.
Atiku's media adviser, Paul Ibe, stated that their legal team would wait for the court process to unfold.
Additionally, the National Publicity Secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Yakubu Shemdam, called on President Tinubu to release his academic credentials to alleviate growing tension and suspicion among critics.
