Veteran singer and activist, Charly Boy, has paid tributes to his father, Justice Oputa, on the 10th anniversary of his death.
He alluded to his father with affection, calling him the “Socrates of the Nigerian Supreme Court,” which is evidence of his judicial prowess and wisdom.
Charly Boy wrote an emotional post remembering his early years when he thought he was competing with his father's well-known status.
He wrote: “It’s 10 years today since the Socrates of the Nigerian Supreme Court passed on.
“He was a very special man, the rallying point for the unity we still enjoy in our great family today.”
Charly Boy praised his father as a bold and special man who raised him to be confident and outstanding.
He described his father’s household as a “love courthouse,” where wisdom and compassion reigned.
“Here’s to a man who was bold enough to raise a son like Charlyboy.
“As a Father, he was a very special man. He ran his household like a love courthouse. On the bench, he was the Socrates, a judge's judge. His judgments were so profound.”
