Seyi Law Laments Bank Cyber Security Levi

Oleh Ebiakuboere England 7 de mayo de 2024 0

Media personality and comedian Seyi Law has reacted to the Nigerian government's cyber security levy.

In his recent tweet, he confronted President Tinubu over the excessive hike. This measure is supposedly by the provisions of the 2024 revised Cybercrime Act.

The instruction said that, going future, a specific amount would be removed from a customer's account as a cyber security tax. This sum accounts for 0.05% of the money handed out.

In addition, Seyi Law voiced his feelings regarding it. He admitted that he despised the government's failure to understand its citizens. He also remarked that this is unacceptable.

He tagged President Tinubu, who stated that the underprivileged should be allowed to breathe. He also asked when the new minimum wage would be published and implemented.

He also highlighted that it has been a year since President Tinubu took office, and no significant changes have occurred.

He wrote: “Ihe when government agencies don’t speak up to the understanding of the citizens and allow wrong narratives to fester before tackling it. The cybersecurity level, according to the act, is 0.005%, and different figures from 0.5% to 3% are being thrown around.

A 0.5% charge in the Nigeria of today is in itself too much punishment on Nigerians. Are we trying to discourage banking transactions again and encourage cash keeping? @cenbank should revisit this abeg.

Stamp duty is something, and now this. It is unacceptable.

@NGRPresident @officialABAT, let the poor breathe. When will the new minimum wage be announced and implemented? Some of your ministers need to look for another job. One year is here and we are counting.”
