Popular Crossdresser, Okuneye Olarewaju Idris, also known as Bobrisky, is spending the Muslim Eid-ul-Fitri holidays in detention.
The Federal Government announced Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024, for the public holidays to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr festival.
Bobrisky was detained on April 3 and convicted by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, April 5, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to the EFCC's allegations of naira misuse.
The EFCC charged Bobrisky with six counts, the first four for Naira abuse and the last two for alleged money laundering.
Before reading the accusations, the EFCC prosecutor asked the court to dismiss counts 5 and 6.
Bobrisky pleaded convicted to four counts of Naira abuse.
He added that he was unaware of the regulations governing Naira misuse and promised to educate his admirers on social media about it.
However, It is noted that Bobrisky's sentencing date of April 9 overlapped with the Eid-ul-Fitri holiday.
