American Celebrity couple, Cardi B and Offset are being sued for using a beautiful Beverly Hills property in their music video for Cardi's song Like What, which Offset directed.
The property owner filed the complaint, alleging that the pair misrepresented their plans to shoot a TikTok video rather than a full-fledged music video to avoid paying the standard leasing fees.
According to court records acquired by TMZ, the homeowner let Cardi B, Offset, and their team use the property for free, believing it was for a quick TikTok video.
The owner claims that he would have charged the right rental rates if he had realized the property was being used for a high-production music video, which has already received over 27 million views on YouTube. The homeowner is now claiming damages over $35,000.
The property, previously rented by Justin Bieber and featured in a Logan Paul video, plays an important role in the Like What music video. The lawsuit alleges that Cardi B and Offset benefitted from the usage of the residence without properly compensating the homeowner.
Cardi B responded by denying the charges and fighting back. She rushed to social media to respond to the complaint, alleging she paid $10,000 in cash for 24-hour access to the estate and paid extra expenses for exceeding the time limit. Cardi says that the property owner and realtors were there throughout the filming and were aware that a full music video, not a TikTok clip, was being filmed.
