The Corporate Affairs Commission's ambassador, Michael Nwabufo, announced that business registration can now be completed within 24 hours using the new special registration portal.
During a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, he encouraged business owners to take advantage of this innovation and meet the July 7 deadline for mandatory business registration set by the CAC and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Nwabufo explained that the portal allows businesses to register and receive documentation within a day.
He emphasized the importance of compliance with new regulations aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability within the financial sector, stating that agents and fintech companies must register their businesses by the July 7 deadline.
To facilitate this process, the CAC has introduced a Special Registration Portal (SRP), which allows businesses to complete their registration directly through their mobile banking apps.
Nwabufo urged business owners to utilize the SRP immediately to ensure timely registration and avoid potential penalties for non-compliance.
He also mentioned that further information and access to the portal can be found on the official CAC website or through banking apps.
Nwabufo highlighted the significance of business registration in Nigeria, noting that it promotes uniqueness and trust among entrepreneurs.
He also mentioned a partnership between the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-Making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria and the CAC, with a goal of registering over 5 million new businesses nationwide within a year.
Nwabufo expressed gratitude to the Registrar-General of CAC, Hussaini Magaji, for his continuous efforts in this endeavor.
