LAGOS,Nigeria - The Nigerian Police have apprehended a murder suspect in Lagos. The individual, identified as Okeke Johnchris, reportedly committed the offense after a disagreement with the victim.

The spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that Okeke and another individual, William Wisdom, had a “violent altercation” in the Ikoyi region of Lagos last week.

“Following an intense argument, Okeke allegedly drove his Lexus saloon car into William, causing severe injuries. William was taken to Gbagada General Hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries,” Adejobi mentioned in a statement released on Sunday.

“A team of detectives investigated the scene, and the deceased was transported to IDH Morgue in Yaba for an autopsy. The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody while investigations continue and arrangements for court appearance are made.”

He cautioned Nigerians against “violent arguments” with others and urged “those who feel wronged to pursue proper legal recourse instead of taking matters into their own hands.”

In another incident, police operatives in the same region “apprehended a suspected criminal named Wisdom Obi, 24 years old.”

“The suspect was operating an unregistered motorcycle at the Abule Ado bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Amuwo Odofin. Upon searching him, a brownie pistol and 13 rounds of live ammunition were found concealed within an MP3 radio,” he added, noting that the suspect was taken into custody, along with the motorcycle and items seized documented as evidence.

Additionally, four suspected traffic robbers were arrested by officers of the Orile Iganmu Division of the Lagos Police Command.

Adejobi named them as: “Kadir Ibrahim, Ifeanyin John, Oduwole Shola, and Rilwan Olajuwon.”

The Force's spokesperson mentioned that they were detained “while attempting to rob passengers from a broken-down vehicle at the Ascon White Sand area of Orile Iganmu. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.”
