Nigerian Afrobeats Singer and Grammy Award Winner, Burna Boy has responded to veteran rapper Idris Abdulkareem, who dragged and called him out in an interview session.
In an unheard segment from the famous podcast "The Honest Bunch," the Jaga Jaga hitmaker addressed Burna Boy's misperception about his colleagues.
Recall that in 2020, Burna Boy sparked controversy on the internet when he stated that none of his senior colleagues prepared the way for him or helped him in his music journey. He took the credit for all his struggles and how far he had come in the music industry.
According to Burna, no one ever helped him in the Nigerian music scene since everyone was too busy either pursuing their own goals or resenting the success of others.
The podcast, which is set to be released on Monday, February 19, saw Eedris unloading his wrath on his younger rival over his statement.
His words: “You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk.”
After Abdulkareem’s remarks, Burna Boy took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to fire back.
In a now-deleted post, he not only promised to settle the score with the legendary rapper anytime they crossed paths, but he also added salt to the wound by citing Abdulkareem's recent kidney surgery.
His statement on social media read, “Abdul Kareem abi wetin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person ey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey dey. make we use mistake kam.”
