Mother of Afrobeat artist Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu, has talked about how her career was impacted by being up around the late great singer Fela Kuti.
Bose Ogulu said in a recent interview with Famouz TV that although she didn't grow up with Fela and his entourage for very long, she nevertheless learned a lot about managing an artist.
She clarified that, as an adult, she was aware that a manager is accountable for more than an artist, including paying the band members and taking care of other tasks.
Being Fela's manager at the time, her father oversaw the crew because everyone came to him rather than Fela.
She emphasized the need for competent artist management, citing the significant impact it has had on her current job as an artist manager.
