Burna Boy is now the first African artist to hit 1 billion streams on Audiomack.
Audiomack announced this on Thursday via its Twitter handle, hailing the Africa Giant over the new feat.
The audio streaming platform in October 2021 awarded Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu a plaque for hitting 300 million streams on their platform.
Before the plaque award, Burna Boy in August 2019 reworked three of his biggest hits with an orchestra for Audiomack.
The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy at Audiomack, Jason Johnson applauded the Africa Giant for the new feat achieved.
He said, “We have been avid supporters of Burna Boy since the early stages of his career, we are incredibly proud to be a part of his journey not just in amplifying his music but in supporting his growth as an artist.”
“I am incredibly grateful and humbled; much love to everyone who has streamed my music and continues to support me; you all are the true MVPs," Burna Boy said when reacting to the 1 billion streams reached.
Known for his global acceptance, the Love, Damini afrobeat singer had received numerous global awards including Grammy.
His album, Love, Damini earned him the first African artist to win a Grammy for Best World Music Album.
