At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari is presently wrapping up his administration's duties with a farewell Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The cabinet may be dissolved as a result of the meeting he is presiding over.
However, before the cabinet's dissolution, its members will finalize any issues that remain, cross all t's and dot all i's on a number of papers, and treat any lingering memoranda from different government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
On Monday in Eagle Square in Abuja, Buhari is scheduled to surrender the reins of power to a successor.
The FEC has previously awarded contracts and added cost increases of billions of naira to contracts.
President Buhari administered the oath of office to seven Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Fiscal and Allocation Commission (RMFC) on Wednesday before the valedictory session, which was preceded by a playful exchange amongst cabinet members.
Peter Okpara (Imo), Senator Ayogu Eze (Enugu), Kolade Abimbola (Oyo), Rekiya Ayuba-Haruna (Kebbi), Hauwa Aliyu (Jigawa), Ismaila Agaka (Kwara), and Amb. Ayuba Ngako (representing the FCT) are among those who have been sworn in by the President ahead of the current valedictory session.
The FEC was briefed on the findings of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo-chaired Health Reform Committee before entering a closed-door meeting.
The committee was established to provide a plan for the nation to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
One of its proposals is to increase financing for the health sector by more than 10%.
