Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for his hometown of Daura, Katsina State following the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new President of Nigeria.
After handing over to Tinubu, Buhari and his First Lady, Aisha Buhari, left the inauguration venue in Abuja.
Bashir Ahmad, a former president's adviser, revealed the information on Monday in a video posted on Twitter.
As he tweeted the video link, he wrote: "Alhamdulillah. After serving the nation as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for eight years, President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja for his hometown of Daura. Thank you, Baba.”
