Following the resignation of the existing board, President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized the appointment of a new Governing Board for the National Institute for Sports (NIS).
Mohammed Manga, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports News's Director of Press and Public Relations, announced the news in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
He said that the institute's governance and policy direction will be provided by the board.
Danladi Ibrahim will serve as the board's chairman, while Mr. Awogbade Gbadebo will be its secretary.
Major-Gen. Okpeh Wilson-Ali, Hafiz Inuwa, a deputy inspector general of police, Lawrence Babatunde-Aremu, Dr. Fatima Kabir-Umar, and Boniface Odum are the other members of the board.
The remaining individuals are Commodore Nesiama Omatseye, Salisu Manman-Aliyu, Gregory Itohoh, Prof. O. A. Moronkola, and Kunle Solaja.
