Brock Lesnar is one of the most dominant and divisive figures in mixed martial arts history. The former UFC heavyweight champion has been linked to a possible return to the octagon for the upcoming UFC 300, a landmark event anticipated to occur in the spring of 2024.
Lesnar, the former heavyweight champion who is presently signed to the WWE, has been mentioned in connection with a possible comeback to the MMA powerhouse.
There has been speculation that Lesnar would return for UFC 300, the organization's biggest event of the year, which will take place in 2024.
UFC president
Dana White, however, has put an end to the speculations by claiming he is confident Lesnar is finished with mixed martial arts competition for good.
White answered a firm "no" when questioned about the possibility of Brock Lesnar returning for UFC 300.
“Brock looks good, doesn’t he? He always does,”
“I think Brock’s done,” White said. "I don’t think he ever comes back."
Lesnar, who is under contract with WWE at the moment, has not competed in the UFC since UFC 200 in July 2016, when he won a unanimous decision against Mark Hunt. Unfortunately for Lesnar, he tested positive for a banned drug, and the outcome was changed to a no contest. The Nevada State Athletic Commission banned him for an entire year and penalized him $250,000.
It was reported that Lesnar might challenge Daniel Cormier for the UFC heavyweight title in 2019, but he finally decided to retire from MMA and focus on his WWE career instead. Since then, he's been involved in several major WWE feuds and battles, most recently
losing to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam a month ago.
The Beast: Brock Lesnar
Besides Michael Bisping, Brock Lesnar is the only other competitor to appear at both UFC 100 and UFC 200. He has a 5-3-1 record in mixed martial arts (MMA), including major victories over Frank Mir, Randy Couture, Shane Carwin, and Cain Velasquez.
Not only has he won four WWE championship titles, but he was also the Heavyweight Champion of the NCAA Division I.
Lesnar is widely regarded as one of the most stunning heavyweights to ever compete in the Octagon, despite only appearing in nine bouts. He defeated some of the best heavyweights of his day and held the title for over 700 days, as reported by
Bleacher Report.
Many of the sport's biggest names and bouts are scheduled to appear at UFC 300, making it a must-see event. Even if Lesnar may not be there, other big names like Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov,
Conor McGregor, Amanda Nunes, Israel Adesanya, and more are possibilities for the main event.
