President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima received the two highest national honors in the nation only four days before taking office.
Shettima received the second-highest national honor, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), while Tinubu received the highest honor, Grand Commander of the Order of Federal Republic (GCFR), which is reserved for presidents.
At an investiture ceremony on Thursday morning at the State House in Abuja, the duo received the honors from departing President Muhammadu Buhari.
