On Tuesday, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal made by Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting Ademola Adeleke's election as governor of Osun State on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a ruling read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the supreme court affirmed the decision of the Appeal Court that Adeleke was duly elected as the state's governor.
The appellant's claim that there were excessive votes cast in the governorship election on July 16, 2022, was found to be unfounded by the supreme court.
The five members of the panel unanimously agree to support and endorse the decision.
The appeal is without merit, in the opinion of every panelist.
