Popular Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has denied paying the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) N15m to dismiss money laundering charges against him.
Recall that Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ordered an immediate investigation into alleged bribery allegations made against some Commission's officers by Idris Okuneye (a.k.a Bobrisky) in a viral audio released by a social activist, Very Dark Man.
Taking to his Instagram page, VDM in a video played an alleged leaked WhatsApp call Bobrisky had with a friend where the crossdresser recounted his ordeal with the EFCC and subsequent imprisonment.
Bobrisky in the audio disclosed how he paid the sum of N15M to EFCC for them to remove the money laundering charges that were previously incorporated in his case.
Bobrisky had allegedly revealed how he gathered money from friends and bribed the anti-graft agency and the charges were finally dropped.
Speaking further in the leaked call, Bobrisky noted that his woes began after he won ‘Best Dressed Female’ at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere and when he appeared before the court, he pleaded guilty thinking he would be given a fine to pay but it turned out to be a jail term.
However, Bobrisky denied the allegation, insinuating that the audio recording was fake.
The crossdresser wrote, "My attention has been drawn to a fake recording circulating on the internet that I paid the EFCC N15 million, and that I was never in prison... I didnt pay any EFCC money, it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out.. Discard any false information."
