American music superstar Beyoncé has granted Kamala Harris the permission to use her song 'Freedom' as the campaign's official song.
The campaign of Harris received prompt approval from Beyoncé, who is well-known for upholding stringent clearance requirements around her music, when they requested to use the song 'Freedom' on Monday — just hours before the singer went out to perform it, an individual close to Harris told CNN.
Prior to this, President Joe Biden made it clear that he would no longer be representing the Democratic Party in the 2024 presidential contest.
On Sunday, the US president announced his withdrawal from the contest for the November presidential election.
His announcement came amid mounting pressures from his Democratic Party colleagues on Capitol Hill, top donors and Hollywood stars after a disastrous debate performance last month.
