BBNaija ‘Level Up’ housemate Groovy Mono has revealed his experience after purportedly finding himself amid a terrifying predicament when an explosion struck Ibadan on Tuesday night.
The occurrence, which has since been confirmed, has left locals in a state of panic and anxiety as inquiries into the source of the explosion continue.
According to reports, the explosion caused severe damage to nearby houses.
The UCH School of Nursing hostel was among the structures damaged, with glass windows smashed by the power of the blast. No fewer than 10 people were feared dead, and 15 others were hospitalized at the University College Hospital.
Among the affected areas were a section of the Governor’s Office, the Secretariat, the Oyo State House of Assembly, the residence of the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige, some buildings at Ologuneru, Apete, New Garage, Bashorun, Akobo, Sango, and Eleyele.
The amount of damage and the number of victims, if any, are unknown as emergency response personnel continue to assess the situation.
BBGroovy, a Naija star who happened to be in Ibadan for unclear reasons, recounted his terrifying incident from his hotel room.
The reality personality stated that he heard the explosion and, after seeing photographs and videos of the aftermath, expressed shock and concern for the safety of individuals nearby.
