Sadio Mane reportedly received a hefty punishment from Bayern Munich as the German club is eager to offload him this summer after he hit teammate Leroy Sane during a heated argument last week.
After the German team's 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday, April 11, the two got into a furious argument, and Mane attacked Sane in the locker room, prompting other players to intervene.
Sane sustained a lip bruise as a result of the incident, and Mane was pulled off the team for Bayern's Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim on Saturday and fined a portion of his £17 million annual salary.
Now that the severity of the penalty has been made public, Bayern issued the biggest fine in its history.
It's a very, very delicate fine for Mane, Bayern analyst Florian Plettenberg told Sky Germany. "According to our understanding, it is an amount that goes way beyond €300,000 (£260,000).
