In response to his players' behavior during a training session on Thursday, April 27, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel smashed a slalom pole.
According to witnesses, the 49-year-old was not pleased with how the Bayern stars conducted themselves during the final match on the diamond-shaped little field, a training format with shortcuts. Tuchel made numerous unsuccessful attempts to alter the player's movement and attacking tendencies. The ex-Chelsea manager was discussing the problem with his assistant coaches when, out of pure rage, he grabbed a slalom pole and broke it with his knee.
Thomas Tuchel is already under pressure at Bayern Munich, despite only having been in charge for seven games. The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain head coach has won just twice since taking over from Julian Nagelsmann.
In addition to being eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester City, the defending Bundesliga champions have also been eliminated from every cup tournament, including the DFB-Pokal after a shocking quarterfinal loss to Freiburg.
Borussia Dortmund currently leads Bayern by one point with five games left in the Bundesliga title race as a result of their recent poor form.
