Nigerian singer, actor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has recently spoken up for the first time after his loss in the Eti Osa Federal Constituency election in Lagos State.
Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party surprisingly defeated Banky W during the February 25 elections. Attah Thaddeus won the election with 24,075 votes, while Banky W secured 18,666 votes, and Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 16,901 votes.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday, the politician expressed his deep disappointment with the election results. He stated that he had made significant preparations, such as plans for a thanksgiving service and searching for a flat and office in Abuja in anticipation of his victory.
However, Banky W maintained that his faith in God had strengthened him and that it is normal to feel wounded after such circumstances. In the video, he also announced that the previously scheduled thanksgiving ceremony would still hold, adding that his electoral defeat would not stop him from expressing gratitude to God.
