Six persons have been reportedly killed and several others Abducted in a fresh attack by bandits around the Bauda and Chibiya communities in Maro Ward in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Rocketparrot learnt that the bandits invaded the village, killing some residents and razed down houses.
The local government chairman, Ibrahim Gajere, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, said the bandits rode on motorcycles fully armed with sophisticated weapons killing two persons in Bauda and three three others in Chibiya.
The victims were identified as Mamuda Tanimu of Ungwan Sarki village, Yusuf Paul of Bauda, Amuse Wasika of Chibiya, Laraba Timothy of Chibiya and Saratu Amuse, a visitor to Chibiya.
Those whose houses were razed down by the assailants were identified as Paul Anthony, Yusuf Paul, Hosea Moni, Victor Yusuf, Benedict Paul, Yohanna Moni and Joseph Yusuf.
According to the LG chairman, seven residential houses were also set ablaze alongside eight motorcycles.
Gajere said: “Although most of the victims killed were attacked while working on their farms, two persons were killed in their homes.
“Security operatives have been notified of the sad incident and have intensified patrols within and around the general area."
Efforts to get the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful as his phone rang out several times.
