Aymeric Laporte is set to leave Manchester City and join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in a record-breaking transfer deal. The defender has agreed to a three-year deal with the club, with a salary of £20m ($27m) per year on the table.
The transfer fee is reportedly close to €30m, with Manchester City accepting the offer from Al-Nassr. Laporte's medical has been booked, and he is expected to join the club soon.
Aymeric Laporte's Time so far
Aymeric Laporte is a professional footballer who plays center back for Manchester City and Spain. In January of 2018, Manchester City paid a then-record £57 million to sign Laporte from Athletic Bilbao. He has won a number of trophies with the club, including
five Premier League championships, two FA Cups, four League Cups, one UEFA Super Cup, two English Super Cups, and one Champions League.

After previously acknowledging France, Laporte switched allegiances in 2021 and now represents Spain internationally. He has 22 caps for Spain and was an integral part of their UEFA Nations League championship in June 2023.
Laporte's departure from the Premier League was prompted by Manchester City's summer purchase of
Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig for £77.6m.
Al-Nassr's Ambitious Transfer Window
This summer, Al-Nassr has been extremely active in the transfer market, securing the services of numerous high-profile players such as Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal teammate Otavio from FC Porto and
Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich.
After falling short of a Saudi Pro League championship in Ronaldo's debut season, the club is hoping to add more talent to its lineup this year.
The defense for Al Nassr is not great, but with Laporte on board, they should be able to improve after conceding 12 goals through their first six games.
