The police have identified an 'auxiliary nurse' named Feyisayo Ogedengbe as the prime suspect in the death of singer MohBad. She administered an injection believed to have triggered MohBad's fatal reactions.
The police investigation has implicated musician AbdulAzeez Adeshina (Naira Marley) and celebrity Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) in other aspects of the case, including allegations of bullying, assault, and threats to MohBad's life over a record label contract dispute.
The police conducted a thorough investigation, including interviews with 26 critical witnesses, family members, friends, and medical personnel.
The investigation also involved visiting various locations related to the case, such as MohBad's residence and the concert venue in Ikorodu.
The autopsy and toxicology test results are pending, but early indications point to the actions of the auxiliary nurse, Ms Ogedengbe, as a crucial factor in MohBad's death.
The police report indicates that Ms. Ogedengbe's actions as an auxiliary nurse, administering medications in a non-clinical environment and in a professionally negligent manner, have raised issues of criminal liability.
The case file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution for vetting and legal advice, potentially leading to further investigative actions and prosecution,
Punch reports.
Commissioner Owohunwa assured the public that the police remain committed to uncovering the truth and delivering justice in this high-profile case.
He pledged to keep the public informed of any developments, including autopsy and toxicology reports, DPP advice, and feedback from the NDLEA (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency).
Earlier,
Naira Marley denied any involvement in the death of MohBad, a Nigerian artist signed to Marlian Music.
He stated that he never touched MohBad or sent anyone to attack him. He also mentioned that when MohBad made allegations against him during a live video, he chose not to respond and forgave him.
