Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, submitted 118 documents before the presidential election petition tribunal on Tuesday to support his case against President Bola Tinubu.
At the five-member panel presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, Atiku and his party are contesting Tinubu's victory as the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election on February 25.
The petitioners claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) violated the Electoral Act of 2022 and committed major violations throughout the election.
They argued that Tinubu was not legitimately elected by the majority of valid votes cast in the election and identified discrepancies in his age and academic credentials.
Through one of his attorneys, Eyitayo Jegede, a PDP contender for governor of Ondo State in the 2020 election, the former vice president disclosed the first batch of evidence during the process on Tuesday.
A list of the number of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) used for the election in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is included in the exhibits, as are printouts of data from the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
The results of the presidential election from the states and FCT are also available in certified copies.
