Nollywood Actress Halima Abubakar has stated that the goal of her organization is to assist children and those with disabilities in Nigeria and throughout Africa.
The actress recently organized the Halima Abubakar Foundation Appreciation Outreach in Abuja. Through the event, she donated food, wheelchairs, crutches, and other relief materials to approximately 2,000 Abuja residents who have impairments.
The actress said that throughout time, she had made it a priority to assist those in need.
She said, “The stories of many of the people living with disabilities are quite touching. While some of them were born with disabilities, others are victims of circumstances that could have been avoided. I am glad that most of them are not giving up on their dreams, and it is our responsibility to assist in making it a reality. Indeed, there is ability in disability.
“The Halima Abubakar Foundation outreach is prepared to extend its reach to every region in Nigeria, and other parts of the continent where there are more vulnerable people living with disabilities.”
The Emir of Karomajiji in Abuja, Suleiman Muhammad, who was present at the event, which was coordinated by the founder of the Goodwill Ambassador Agency, Chris Odey, commended Abubakar’s gesture.
He described her as a woman of substance and loved by the people and urged more celebrities to emulate her.
