Over 80 government agencies, including the Presidential Villa, risk losing power over N47 billion debt!
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has issued a stern warning to 86 government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) who owe a staggering N47 billion for electricity bills.
This includes prominent names like the Presidential Villa (N923.9 million), the Ministry of Defence (N12 billion), and the Ministry of Finance (N5.43 billion).
Frustrated by repeated payment delays, AEDC announced a 10-day ultimatum for settlement before disconnection. "We've tried, but our previous attempts haven't worked," they stated.
This move throws a spotlight on the nation's power sector woes, where unpaid bills are a major bottleneck.
