Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Nicki Minaj, has denied rumors that she is taking a break.
@NMCaviar, an X handle, initiated the rumors by tweeting, "Nicki Minaj announces she's going on hiatus."
Minaj responded, clarifying that she was not taking a vacation from music. She wrote: "I'm not going anywhere. Kiss my a** and take a hiatus."
Nicki Minaj previously took a hiatus from music. In December 2019, she stated on X that she was "retiring" from music to focus on starting a family.
She made the announcement two months after marrying her fiance, Kenneth Petty. Minaj gave birth to a son on September 30, 2020.
Minaj temporarily signed with Brooklyn group Full Force, where she rapped with a foursome named the Hoodstars, who included Lou$tar (son of "Bowlegged Lou"), Safaree Samuels (Scaff Beezy), and 7even Up.
The trio recorded the entrance song "Don't Mess With' for WWE Diva Victoria in 2004, which was featured on the compilation album ThemeAddict: WWE The Music, Vol.6.
Minaj later quit Full Force and began posting songs on her Myspace profile, sending several of them to people in the music industry.
Later, in 2007, Fendi, CEO of Brooklyn's Dirty Money Entertainment, signed Minaj on a 180-day deal. She began performing under the stage name Nicki Maraj before changing it to Nicki Minaj.
Minaj's debut studio album, Pink Friday (2010), topped the US Billboard 200 chart, while her diamond-certified single 'Super Bass' peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Minaj is renowned for her explosive rap flow, smart rhymes, musical variety, and alter personas. She first gained popularity after releasing three mixtapes from 2007 to 2009.
