Aptech Learning, a leading education and training company, has partnered with Middlesex University, London, to empower Nigerian students with technology education.
The partnership, announced at the 16th edition of Aptech’s annual Career Quest event in Lagos would offer a scholarship worth N16m per student to four deserving students to study at Middlesex University’s London campus.
The technology institution in a statement said the Career Quest is an event organised by Aptech in partnership with Middlesex University, providing complete know-how about the UK and Dubai degrees and their benefits.
It stated that the educational programme was hugely attended by prospective young people and their parents, who were elated at the programme being run by Aptech, linking the students who run their programme in Nigeria with a notable London university.
The Assistant Vice President of International Business, Aptech Learning, India, Seetam Thakuri, stated, “Today, we will give a scholarship to four students for the London campus. So the scholarship would be worth N16m per student.
“So you see N16m for four, that is N64m. Additionally, we are giving a scholarship worth N12m from Aptech courses, which is called the Aptech Advanced Diploma courses and is for 2 years.
“This is the 16th edition of Aptech in association with Middlesex University. So all over the 16 years, we have been a window, or we could say a door, for thousands of students to get a UK degree.
"Look, today in Nigeria, with the current exchange rate, it is very difficult for parents to send their children abroad to get their degree from London."
The assistant vice president added, “So what we exactly do is train our students in the latest AI-enabled or AI-powered courses of Aptech for two years that are called the Advanced Diploma courses.
“Here in Aptech Nigeria, once students complete these courses, they are entitled to credit transfer facilities which means that our students get direct entry in the final year of the degree programme in this university of Middlesex.”
Also, the Business Development Manager, West Africa, Middlesex University, London, Yetunde Popoola, noted that the programme was organised to make prospective students comprehend the process, fees and benefits of such integration with Middlesex University after obtaining an Aptech diploma.
