Apple just finished up its "Let Loose" event, and it was packed with exciting new releases.
The stars of the show were definitely the refreshed iPads, but we also got a peek at some cool new accessories and software updates.
Let's break down the biggest announcements:
iPad Air Gets Bigger and Better
Apple expands its iPad Air lineup with a new 13-inch model, a budget-friendly alternative to the iPad Pro. Not only is the screen larger, but it also packs the powerful M2 chip – a significant upgrade over last year's M1 model.
The new iPad Air comes in a range of colours (blue, purple, starlight, and space grey) and starts at $599 for the 11-inch version and $799 for the 13-inch. Storage options go from the base 128GB up to a spacious 1TB.
iPad Pro Goes OLED and Ultra-Thin
The iPad Pro gets a major upgrade with a stunning new OLED display, offering even more vibrant colours and deeper blacks. It also boasts a slimmer design, with the 11-inch model clocking in at just 5.3mm thick, and the 13-inch at 5.1mm.
But the makeover isn't just about looks – Apple has packed in its next-gen M4 processor. The new iPad Pro comes in silver and space black, with a base storage of 256GB. It starts at $999 for the 11-inch and $1,299 for the 13-inch.
M4 Chip: AI-Ready and Supercharged
Apple's new M4 processor made its debut, boasting a 10-core CPU and GPU and built with a more efficient 3nm process. Apple promises a 50% CPU boost over the M2, calling it "an outrageously powerful chip for AI."
Apple Pencil Pro Gets Fancy Upgrades
Last year's USB-C Apple Pencil gets a refresh! The new model adds haptic feedback, a customizable squeeze gesture, "roll to change brush shape" functionality, and even Find My support.
The new Apple Pencil Pro works with the iPad Pro and costs $129.
A Magic Keyboard Like Your MacBook
The redesigned Magic Keyboard features an aluminium palm rest, a larger trackpad with haptic feedback, and a handy function row. Plus, it comes in silver and space black to match your iPad Pro perfectly.
The Magic Keyboard will set you back $299 for the 11-inch model and $349 for the 13-inch.
Cheaper Entry-Level iPad
Good news for budget-conscious shoppers! With the new iPad launches, Apple is dropping the price of the entry-level 10th-gen iPad to just $349 – that's $100 cheaper than before.
Creative App Updates
Apple introduces a new app, Final Cut Camera, designed for live multi-camera productions. It works seamlessly with the updated Final Cut Pro, letting you use iPhones or iPads for additional camera angles.
Logic Pro, Apple's digital audio workstation, has impressive AI-powered features, including a new virtual bass player and keyboard player.
