Manchester United's Brazilian winger Antony has been granted a leave of absence from the club to address the allegations of domestic violence.

On several occasions,
Antony has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavalllin, with the Brazilian denying the allegations.
The 23-year-old former Ajax ace player was dropped from the Brazil squad for the World Cup qualifiers, and is currently under investigation by the police, both in Manchester and in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Manchester United has issued a statement acknowledging the allegations made against Antony and confirming that he will not be returning to training until further notice.

Manchester United has spoken out against acts of violence and abuse, and they understand the gravity of the matter and the need to protect all parties.
The club and Antony have reached an agreement for him to postpone his return until he has responded to the allegations against him.
Although the club has allowed the winger time off, Antony has not been suspended and continues to get his regular salary from Old Trafford. Club officials said they are taking the complaints seriously and that this action shows how closely they are monitoring the matter.
