American singer, songwriter and record producer Justin Timberlake has been barred from driving in New York indefinitely after being arrested on charges of drunk driving.
The pop musician, who is now on tour in Europe, appeared virtually in a Sag Harbor Courthouse on Friday, after which he was re-arrested for a drunk driving allegation arising from the June 18 incident.
He appeared via video link from Antwerp, Belgium, and pleaded not guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated.
The judge informed Timberlake that he was suspending his driving privileges in New York due to his refusal to undergo a breath test at police headquarters following his arrest, but did not specify how long the suspension would last.
The hearing came after his attorney, Edward Burke Jr., had sought to dismiss the case last week, citing errors in the original charge sheet over Timberlake's arrest.
But the judge instead ordered the singer-actor to be re-arraigned under the new, revised paperwork filed by prosecutors.
Burke withdrew his original motion to dismiss the case during the Friday hearing.
Sag Harbor Judge Carl Irace also admonished the attorney over his comments at the previous court hearing, calling them "irresponsible."
