American actress Shelley Duvall has passed away at 75.
Her partner, Dan Gilroy confirmed her death to The Hollywood Reporter.
She died in her sleep of complications from diabetes at her home in Blanco, Texas, Dan Gilroy, on Thursday.
“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,” THR quoted Gilroy as saying.
Duvall began her career in the 1970 dark comedy ‘Brewster McCloud.’ She won the Cannes Film Festival’s Best Actress award for her role in the 1977 drama ‘3 Women.’
Three years later, she starred as Olive Oyl opposite Robin Williams in Robert Altman’s musical version of ‘Popeye.’
Duvall was off-screen for two decades before coming back in 2023’s ‘The Forest Hills.
