The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu and other key officials of the All Progressives Congress from the South-South region have met to strategise on how to ensure the victory of the APC candidate in the coming Edo State governorship election.
They also reiterated their support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration during their one-day South-South APC zonal meeting in Calabar, Cross River State.
The zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Hon. Chief Victor Giadom, expressed the stakeholders' confidence in President Tinubu’s administration and his strategic decisions aimed at revitalising Nigeria’s economy and instilling hope in the people and investors.
The APC leaders also agreed to bridge any existing gap, foster collaboration and work towards a common goal of strengthening the party’s presence and influence in the region and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the policies and programmes of the present administration.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the party said: “It is imperative for the APC to regain control of the government in Edo State and to expand its membership within the region to provide unwavering support for President Tinubu, both presently and during the 2027 general election when he seeks re-election for a second term.”
