The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has responded to the grave allegations surrounding a Nollywood costume designer named Prince Onyenwere, accused of raping a 10-year-old girl on a film set.
The girl, whose identity is being kept a secret, was allegedly assaulted by Prince on Tuesday while she was getting ready in a hotel room in Asaba while filming a movie.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, January 28, at the hotel where he and his fellow crew members were staying for a film shoot.
He allegedly took the youngster to a hotel room to change her clothes for the following scene. However, he took longer than usual, leading the film's producer to send someone to check on them.
Unfortunately, the girl was discovered crying hysterically, with blood streaks all over the floor. C. Prince allegedly forced himself on her after requesting that she strip for a wardrobe change.
Prince allegedly took a serious beating before being turned over to the police.
Popular blogger Cutie Jules alerted the president of AGN, Emeka Rollas, Kate Henshaw, and other influential members to the incident, urging them to pursue justice for the young victim.
Mr. Rollas replied to Cutie Jules' post in the comment section, asking for further information on the matter.
He said, Please, if you have more information, let me have them, please."
The Delta State Police had not released any official statement regarding the matter as of the time of filing this report.
In a video making the rounds online, C. Prince can be seen being interrogated and stripped naked by furious eyewitnesses. The hotel room was also covered in the victim’s blood.
