Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman has been awarded the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week, DailyPost report on Friday.
Lookman was awarded following his outstanding performance in Atalanta's 3-0 victory over Olympic Marseille.
Lookman was instrumental in the win, scoring one goal and providing an assist during the match held at Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo. This marks the first time he has received this accolade this season.
The 29-year-old secured the award after earning the highest number of votes, beating out AS Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
Lookman's contributions this season bring his total goal involvements for Atalanta across all competitions to 20 (12 goals and eight assists).
Atalanta will now face newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final. The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on Wednesday, May 22nd.
