The Adamawa State Government has initiated the sale and distribution of fertilizer to farmers across the state on Thursday.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor David Finchuwa Jatau, stated that they have procured about N500 million worth of fertilizer and are expecting another 65 truckloads of farm inputs.
He also warned against selling the fertilizer in the market and urged the public to report any such activities.
In addition, he said a 50 per cent discount was announced for the sale of the fertilizer.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr Sini Thakma, expressed confidence in the distribution chain of the fertilizer.
The event also included the inauguration of members of the Governing Board of the College of Agriculture Ganye at the state Secretariat, Ministry of Agriculture.
Commissioner David Fin Jatau charged the board members to work towards repositioning the college and emphasized the need to facilitate its accreditation.
The Board Chairman, Professor Iliyasu Audu, pledged to justify the confidence placed in his team.
