Suspended Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing publicly apologizes to the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) for her previous criticism.
The Yoruba actors' and filmmakers' umbrella organization in Nigeria is called TAMPAN.
Three years after she was suspended for her online dispute with actor Lege Maimi on Baba Ijesha's alleged child abuse case, she has now apologized.
Recall that some TAMPAN members, like Yomi Fabiyi and Lege Maimi, reacted negatively to Blessing and colleague Iyabo Ojo's campaign against Baba Ijesha.
Veteran actor Jide Kosoko made fun of the association's decision after preventing filmmakers from collaborating with Iyabo Ojo and Blessing in response to the public uproar.
However, on Sunday at the 2024 Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Canada, Nkechi Blessing publicly apologized to TAMPAN while in tears.
In a viral video on social media, she apologized for everything she had done.
"I say from the bottom of my heart, I miss the industry. You all shaped who I am now. I'm being feted all around the world because of you. Please, I apologize."
In response, TAMPAN's president, Mr. Latin, recognized her apology, giving some closure to the problem, while actress Odunlade Adekola complimented her for the public apology.
Baba Ijesha was sentenced to prison by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court in July 2022, after a 12-month trial.
