*As FG Declares Certificates from Togo, Benin Republic Varsities Fake
Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has questioned the validity of doctoral degrees bestowed on Nigerian celebs by universities in Benin Republic and Togo.
This comes after the federal government announced that all degree certificates from Cotonou University in Benin Republic issued from 2017 to date be rendered invalid.
Recall that the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, recently claimed that 22,789 Nigerians were parading fake degree certificates obtained from Benin Republic and Togo between 2019 and 2023.
In an Instagram post, the actor reacting to the development on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram on Sunday afternoon, August 25, said, “What Happens To ALL The ABSURD Doctoral degrees splashed on Nigerian celebs since FG has Pronounced that degrees acquired from Benin Republic since 2017 are INVALID? #fakedegreescam #fake #cotonou #beninrepublic🇧🇯#university #invaliddegrees.”
