Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commended the exceptional performance of 31 students from the state in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
According to reports, these students scored above 300 in the examination.
The governor expressed his delight in receiving the news of outstanding results from both public and private schools in the state.
He also highlighted the remarkable achievement of Master Samuel Olanrewaju Oluwasemilore from Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, who scored an impressive 358 in the exam.
“Governor AbdulRazaq also congratulates the Great 30 (students) from Kwara-based Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, who got between 355 and 300 marks in the exam and similar high-performers from other schools in the state.
“We are proud of achievements like this; they serve as shining examples for younger ones to work harder, be at their best in their studies, and make their parents and community proud,” the Governor says.
The governor announced that the tech-based learning programme has been approved for statewide coverage in order to enhance learning outcomes in the state.
He expressed confidence in the state's ability to surpass its achievements in the education sector, citing the positive results of the KwaraLEARN programme.
He mentioned the upcoming launch of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund to further support and improve accountability in the sector.
In other news, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College in Ilorin reported that 30 of its students achieved scores ranging from 300 to 355 in the recently released UTME results, out of a total of over 8,000 students nationwide.
Furthermore, a student from Government Secondary School in Omu Aran, Olukayode Olusola, attained an impressive score of 362 in the examination.
