A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima has on Saturday said the entire northern region cannot speak in one voice to have a single presidential candidate in the 2027 election.
Galadima who spoke in an interview with the Sun, added that , in Nigeria democratic system, electorates have the liberty to make their different choices.
When asked if the Northerners would pick ex-presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP or his NNPP counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Galadima said, “We are not in the church; we are not in the mosque. Why should we speak with one voice? That is democracy. If you bring three people together, everybody has got a different way of thinking on how to solve a certain problem”.
The NNPP chieftain also alleged that the party’s votes in the 2023 general elections were suppressed.
“NNPP is doing very well because after the elections, we discovered that our votes were suppressed. Over five million of our votes were suppressed”, he said.
