PLATEAU, Nigeria - The Northern Nigeria Youths Union has pledged to secure more than two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
The union's chairman, Abubakar Aliyu, made this announcement on Wednesday following a significant meeting in Jos, Plateau.
"We are speaking after gathering a large number of young people who are dedicated to supporting Tinubu's journey. This comes after witnessing his implementation of numerous developmental projects, particularly in Northern Nigeria," Aliyu stated.
He highlighted Tinubu’s recent inauguration of the Abuja to Kaduna to Kano highway construction.
"The prices of various goods have significantly dropped, and the price of fuel has also seen a notable decrease," said the union leader.
"We in the Northern Nigeria Youth Union assure the president that when the elections arrive, we will deliver more than two million votes."
Aliyu mentioned that the union comprises registered members, including both Muslims and Christians, all of whom are volunteers from the 19 northern states.
He emphasized, "We are not receiving any external funding. We are simply patriots volunteering our efforts. With our considerable membership, we will draw more people to the polls to vote for Tinubu when election time comes."
“With over 65,000 members and the initiatives we will undertake to encourage voters with cards, we are confident that we will generate the necessary votes for Tinubu. This is a promise that we will fulfill."
