The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) reports that 2,518 Nigerians have evacuated from Sudan and returned home.
Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the head of NiDCOM's Public Relations and Protocols Unit, provided a report on the exercise on Sunday.
15 flights were used for the evacuation, including 4 from Egypt's Aswan and 11 from Port Sudan.
The most recent number is an increase from the 2,371 citizens who were taken home on May 13th.
"The number of people who have evacuated as of right now is 2,518. The new arrivals just now are 140 adults, comprising three infants and 30 children," Balogun stated.
Over 100,000 people have been displaced from Khartoum, the capital, and other cities into neighboring countries as a result of the fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which broke out in April.
