No fewer than 16 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes in eastern Khan Younis on Monday, following new evacuation orders from Israel.
Israel issued the orders after claiming renewed attacks from the area, to protect civilians from combat zones.
Palestinian sources reported that 16 people were killed by Israeli tank shelling and airstrikes in Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis.
Israel justified the evacuation orders by alleging Palestinian rocket attacks from those areas, though health institutions were not included in the orders.
Palestinians, the UN, and relief agencies have stated that no safe areas remain in Gaza.
Earlier in July, separate Israeli strikes in Al-Mawasi killed numerous Palestinians.
Palestinians have fled amid Israeli Evacuation Orders and Intensified bombings in Gaza City.
Israel claimed those strikes targeted armed militants and high-ranking Hamas officials, but Palestinian officials debunked the claims as false justifications for the attacks.
